Frame of the month November.

November 8, 2017

In the dreary month of November a reminder of spring - a picture of daffodils.

Cleverly drawn by artist William Shand using white pastel on black paper it has no conventional window mount. Instead, the glass is held away from the picture by an underframe of narrow wood moulding, hand painted in white, then finished off with a simple black frame.

It is glazed in anti-reflective glass, which allows the velvety look of the black paper to show giving a lovely depth to the picture.
