I've been asked to frame some unusual things, but this non-framing job was a little unexpected!
A few weeks ago, a friend was rebuilding an old greenhouse. Somehow he had a few panes of glass left over and a few gaps in the frame which none of the glass panes would fit. Perhaps it was a bit like me taking a clock to pieces and putting it back together, I would be bound to get a few pieces left over!
Anyway, the request was 'could I cut greenhouse glass?'
Greenhouse glass turns out to be a little thicker than your average picture glass, but after giving the panes a good clean (dirty glass of any thickness does not cut well) I gave it a go - and yes, I can cut greenhouse glass!
So, next time you rebuild a greenhouse and need some panes of glass resizing, give me a call!
