Embrace the imperfect!

December 10, 2018

Locals to my home and workshop might recognise this historic tree. In Kings Cliffe it is usually simply known as the 'Beech Tree', sometimes as the 'Fair Tree' (something to do with horse fairs I believe) and I have heard it referred to as the 'Cathedral Tree'.

Whatever you call it, it is very old, very large and somewhat imperfect especially where it has been vandalised over the years.

Too large to take in one shot, this image is made up of 6 photos taken by Sue Kirk, slightly lopsided like the tree! Simply mounted and framed it just goes to show that not every image has to be perfect to be interesting.
