Frame of the Month - June

June 4, 2019

 This was an interesting one!

The client brought in an old piece of embroidery, already framed, but in dire need of a bit of attention.

When we took it to pieces, we discovered that the border was a separate piece and where the old mount had covered it the colours were much more vibrant. You don't realise how much things like fabrics can fade.

So, I remounted it showing as much as possible of the design and, using UV protective glass to prevent further fading, gave it a gold frame which brings the colour to life.

Note to self: remember to take photos of the original piece so the difference an bee appreciated!
