Getting it just right can be tricky!
Here is a nice, small still life of a bowl of figs by Cepreu Akouel.
The mount is antique white, which looks nice and bright against the dark warmth of the figs and it is framed in Larson- Juhl's 'Urbane' moulding in black with burgundy streaks showing through.
The customer was happy with the choice and took the picture home eager to hang it on the wall.
A few weeks later, having lived with the picture for a while, the customer wanted it changed. The mount was too white and when placed on the wall, with other pictures nearby it just 'shouted' its presence.
Not a problem. Having used fully reversible techniques, the mount was easily changed to mushroom. The result, a much warmer, subtle combination of colours and a happy customer.
